Description

Snow in Sedona Arizona is very rare, but, if you are lucky enough to be there when it snows, you may observe its powder sugar coating on the thick layer of red-to-orange-colored sandstone found only in this area. The combination of the two is magical. On the day I shot this photo, I was able to travel up into the mountains by jeep with a Native American bamboo flute player. After helping me to climb to the spot where I took this photo, he charmed me by climbing among the rocks and playing his flute as I composed my images. This is my favorite.
