What is it about the elephant that captures our imagination as children and never really lets go? Its size and strength? Floppy ears and long trunk? Range of behaviors and personalities? The child in me was wild with joy when I was able to spend several hours in an elephant preserve in Sri Lanka recently. I watched them play in the mud, interact with each other and, of course, eat, but my favorite image from that experience was this less typical view from behind as the elephant sauntered away.
Kathleen's passion for photography evolved organically from a love of traveling in the United States and around the globe. Her prior career as a teacher of language and culture instilled in her an insatiable curiosity. She is always searching with her camera for the natural and cultural beauty that makes a place memorable and unique.
