Description

This Buddha measures 151 feet long and is 50
meters tall, making it the largest reclining Buddha statue in Thailand. Located in Wat Pho (the Temple of the Reclining Buddha in Thai) it is plated in 18 karat gold estimated to be worth $250 million. It is a representation of Buddha, just before he passed into the afterlife, lying on his side, with a calm and content expression. Only able to view the Buddha through holes in the walls around the room containing the statue, I found it imposible to capture the entire length in a single photo.
