Description
As part of a semester photography class project which led to a book, I photographed 100 different styles of hat in context but without a human presence. This cap reminded me of early 20th century movies where young boys sold papers shouting, "Extra! Extra! Read all about it." as they walked or road their bicycles through city streets. This casual eight-panel hat with a button on the top and a hard brim, also called a Gadsby, a Cabbie or a Poor Boy Cap dates back to the late 18th century in Europe and the U.S.
