While I enjoyed my entire two-week visit to Ireland (amazingly rain free?) the time I spent in Northern Ireland was the most moving, due to its complex history. Londonderry (or Derry as it is commonly called) is the second largest city in Northern Ireland after Belfast. It was at the center of the struggle in the 60’s and 70’s between those favoring union with the Republic of Ireland and those wanting to remain under British control. I greatly enjoyed a leisurely walk along a portion of its 17th century stone wall, one of the finest examples of a walled city in Europe.

Kathleen's passion for photography evolved organically from a love of traveling in the United States and around the globe. Her prior career as a teacher of language and culture instilled in her an insatiable curiosity. She is always searching with her camera for the natural and cultural beauty that makes a place memorable and unique.
