Artist's Description
This beautiful and aromatic flowering shrub blooms all summer long. It thrives in hot, sunny southern France. Although most commonly associated with scented perfumes and soaps, it also has many therapeutic qualities ranging from supporting sleep and calming the nervous system to repelling mosquitos. I visited this field of lavender on a high plateau in Provence, cultivated for use in products made by the French luxury retailer, L’Occitane, where it is referred to as “blue gold.|
